Intragranular Precipitation

The formation of a second phase or particles within the interior of a grain, rather than along its boundaries, often during aging or prolonged elevated-temperature exposure. Unlike precipitation concentrated at grain boundaries, intragranular precipitation is distributed generally through the grain, affecting bulk properties such as strength and toughness rather than concentrating along a preferential or path.
