Micrography of the longitudinal section of the pipe, at the thicker part of the fracture, showing several secondary cracks opened to the external side of the pipe. There are no problems in the material structure and the cracks are associated to large plastic deformation.

The deformation lines of the cold formed process (thread cold rolling) are also deformed by the cracking propagation.
