Condition
Vibration-Induced Fatigue
A mechanism in which small-amplitude, high-frequency cyclic stresses from mechanical vibration — rather than the primary operating load — accumulate over time and initiate and grow a , often at a resonant frequency of the component or its supporting . It can produce failures at stress levels well below what the component's primary loading would suggest is dangerous.
