Flash Butt Welding

A resistance welding process in which the ends of two components are brought together while an electric current arcs across the closing gap, melting the abutting surfaces before they are forced together under pressure to complete the weld. It is commonly used for joining rail, pipe, and other long products end to end in a continuous production line.
