Ductile Cast Iron

Also known as: Nodular Cast Iron

A in which the graphite is present as rounded, nodular particles rather than as flakes, giving it substantially better ductility and toughness than while retaining good castability. It is one of the most widely families for components that need to withstand impact or tensile loading, not just compression.
