Testing
Brinell Hardness
Also known as: HB
A hardness test and scale in which a hardened or carbide ball is pressed into a material's surface under a fixed load, with hardness calculated from the diameter of the resulting indentation. It is well suited to coarse-grained or heterogeneous materials and to testing over a larger area than more localized hardness methods.
