Beach Marks
Also known as: Fatigue Beach Marks
Macroscopic, concentric ridge-like markings on a surface, each corresponding to a pause or change in -growth rate, that together outline the successive positions of the advancing front. They are one of the classic macroscopic indicators to identify as the failure mechanism, visible without magnification.
