Condition
Artificial Aging
A in which a solution-treated, precipitation-hardenable alloy is held at an elevated temperature for a controlled time to promote the controlled precipitation of a strengthening second phase, as distinguished from natural aging, which occurs at room temperature over a longer period. It is the second step of the precipitation-hardening process, following solution treatment.
