9% Ni Steel

A nickel-alloyed steel grade formulated to retain adequate toughness at cryogenic temperature, most commonly used for the storage and transport of liquefied natural gas and other refrigerated liquids. Its high nickel content gives it an unusually low ductile-to-brittle transition temperature compared with ordinary carbon or low-alloy steels.
