Micrography of a longitudinal section of the fork, at the scoop to handle position (scoop to the right of the figure and handle to the left). The full thickness is presented in the image and it is possible to see that in the handle location the ferritic grains are larger in the center of the thickness than close to the surfaces, and in the scoop position the grains tend to be more uniform through the thickness.
