The 4 1/2" nominal diameter seamless pipe internally overlaid with Alloy 625. This pipe corresponds to a 90° curve. The overlaid pipe was heat treated before and after bending. The final quenching and tempering heat treatment was conducted to meet API 5L X70 properties.

Seamless Pipe Overlaid with Alloy 625
M - LAS / Ni AlloyP - Seamless PipeAp - Oil and GasCd - Welding
Cm - Aspect Before AnalysisDf - Welded Joint
General view of the 2" branch line that was supporting an instrument in a 12" gas piping of an offshore unity. The branch line is composed by a seamless pipe welded to a weldolet (left side of the figure) and to a flange (right side of the figure). The leakage is associated to a through wall cracking in the middle of the pipe length. The cracking is not evidenced in the figure, since it is too thin. See the schematic drawing in the next figure

Vibration Induced Fatigue in a 316/316L SS
M - Austenitic Stainless SteelP - Seamless PipeAp - OffshoreCd - Vibration Induced Fatigue
Cm - Aspect Before AnalysisDf - General View
The 8" ND, 1 1/4" thick, seamless pipe that was welded by GMAW process in 6G position.
The testpiece was adopted for ASME IX qualification tests.

Vibration Induced Fatigue in 304SS
M - Austenitic Stainless SteelP - Longitudinal Seam Welded PipeAp - PipingCd - Vibration Induced Fatigue
Cm - Aspect Before AnalysisDf - Crack
The external surface of the 2" diameter pipe is rusted and the leakage is associated to “holes” that appear very small at the surface but that open a large hole in the middle of the thickness.
